What is Affidavi?

Does Affidavi work with Case Center (formerly CaseLines)?
Yes. Affidavi prepares the PDFs Case Center expects: text-searchable, bookmarked, hyperlinked, under the 500-page-per-document cap, with portal-safe file names. You upload the finished PDF exactly as the practice direction asks.
Do my documents ever leave my computer?
No. Affidavi processes everything locally on your Mac or PC. There is no document cloud and no account that can browse your matters. The only network call is licence activation.
Does Affidavi use AI or send my documents to an AI service?
No. Affidavi does not send documents to any AI or cloud service. Exhibit matching, hyperlinking, redaction and the filing checks run as deterministic software on your computer, and the redaction is verified by reading the finished file back. The only network call the app makes is licence activation, which carries a licence key and a machine identifier — never a document.
Which courts does Affidavi support?
Affidavi is built for Ontario civil practice first, and ships filing profiles for 80+ Canadian courts and portals — portal-safe naming, size and page caps, and automatic volume splitting follow the profile you pick.
What file types can I bring?
Word documents, PDFs and photos. Word converts on your computer, and scanned PDFs can be OCR'd so text search and hyperlinks work.

Does Affidavi replace Adobe Acrobat for court documents?
For building court records, yes: the exhibit assembly, hyperlinking, bookmarking, redaction and filing checks that are done by hand in Acrobat are done by Affidavi in one pass. It is not a general PDF editor — the finished PDF opens in Acrobat, Preview or any viewer, and you keep your editor for everything else. Affidavi vs. Acrobat, task by task.
Does Affidavi redact documents properly?
Yes — true redaction: redacted content is removed from the file itself, not hidden under a black box waiting to be copied out. The finished file is then independently read back to confirm the values are gone; an output that cannot be verified is set aside, never handed to you as finished.
Does Affidavi run on Mac and Windows?
Yes. Affidavi runs natively on macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and on Windows 10 or later. Every plan includes more than one computer, so a Mac at the office and a Windows laptop at home can share one licence. Download details.
Can I use Affidavi outside Ontario?
Yes. Affidavi is designed around Ontario civil practice first — the Rules of Civil Procedure, Case Center and the Superior Court's practice directions — and its filing profiles cover 80+ Canadian courts and portals. The deadline clocks and the Form 30A conventions are Ontario-specific.
How do I get support?
Email licence@affidavi.ca and you will hear back by the next business day. In the app, Help → Contact support or Report a problem opens an email that already carries the build number, your operating system and the last engine message — never one of your documents. Support details.
What is the refund policy?
The 14-day free trial is the refund: try every feature before you pay anything. An annual plan can be refunded in full within 14 days of the first charge. Monthly plans are not refunded — cancel any time and the plan ends at the close of the month you have paid for. The details are on the refunds page.
Is Affidavi a law firm?
No. Affidavi is document-preparation software. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.
Who makes Affidavi?
Affidavi is made in Ontario, Canada, by a small independent team, and sold under the Affidavi name. Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for subscriptions, and licence@affidavi.ca answers everything else.
